When more than one member of a family disappears at once, the case becomes harder, not easier. There are more names to carry, more agencies with a piece of the file, and more chances for the story to be filed under a theory before anyone has evidence for it.
These are cases where two or more relatives vanished in a single incident. Some have remains and no answers. Some have answers and no remains. A few were resolved after decades, which is the reason to keep the page.

The Springfield Three — Springfield, Missouri, 7 June 1992
Sherrill Levitt, her daughter Suzanne "Suzie" Streeter, and Streeter's friend Stacy McCall. Streeter and McCall returned to Levitt's home after graduation celebrations. All three vanished from the house overnight. Purses, cars and the family dog were left behind. There was no sign of forced entry. Nothing has been found in 34 years.
Status: open. Listed by the FBI's Violent Criminal Apprehension Program.

The Skelton brothers — Morenci, Michigan, 26 November 2010
Andrew, 9. Alexander, 7. Tanner, 5. The three brothers were with their father during a Thanksgiving visitation and were never returned to their mother. He gave shifting accounts and was convicted of unlawful imprisonment in 2011. In November 2025, days before his scheduled release, he was charged with murder in all three deaths.
Status: the boys are still missing. Homicide prosecution pending. Michigan State Police reported a new influx of tips after the 2025 charges.

Sarah and Jacob Hoggle — Montgomery County, Maryland, 7 to 8 September 2014
Sarah, 3. Jacob, 2. Both disappeared while in the care of their mother, who was the last person seen with them and has never disclosed their whereabouts. After years in which she was found incompetent to stand trial, she was re-indicted in 2025 and a judge found her competent in December 2025. The children remain missing. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children has issued age-progression images.
Status reviewed August 13, 2026: children still missing; prosecution active.

Tionda and Diamond Bradley — Bronzeville, Chicago, 6 July 2001
Tionda, 10. Diamond, 3. The sisters disappeared after their mother left for work, leaving a note that they intended to walk to a nearby school and store. Neighbors reported seeing them outside around noon. One of the largest missing-child searches in Chicago history followed. New age-progression images were released in 2025.
Status: open, unsolved.

The Jack family — Prince George, British Columbia, 2 August 1989
Ronald Jack, 26. Doreen Jack, 26. Russell Jack, 9. Ryan Jack, 4. An Indigenous family of four vanished after an unidentified man approached Ronald at a pub offering logging-camp work. The family was last seen packing and boarding a pickup truck with him. No trace of any of the four has ever been found. The only person of interest is still described only by build, hair and beard.
Status: open with the RCMP.

The Jamison family — Latimer County, Oklahoma, 8 October 2009
Bobby Jamison, 44. Sherilynn Jamison, 40. Madyson Jamison, 6. The family disappeared while looking at land near Red Oak. Their truck was found abandoned with wallets, phones, identification, a GPS unit and roughly $32,000 in cash inside, and their dog still in the vehicle. Skeletal remains of two adults and a child were found by hunters in November 2013 less than three miles away and identified in July 2014.
Status: remains recovered. Cause of death undetermined due to decomposition. Circumstances unresolved.

Timmothy Pitzen — Aurora, Illinois, 11 May 2011
Timmothy Pitzen, 6, was signed out of kindergarten by his mother, Amy Fry-Pitzen, 43, who took him on a multi-day trip. She was found dead by suicide in a Rockford motel three days later, with a note stating the boy was with people who would care for him and that he would never be found. A 2019 claim by a man in Kentucky to be Timmothy was disproven by DNA.
Status: mother deceased. Child still missing after 15 years.

The Freeman case — Welch, Oklahoma, 30 December 1999
Danny Freeman, 35, and Kathy Freeman, 37, were found shot dead in their burned trailer. Their daughter Ashley Freeman, 16, and her friend Lauria Bible, 16, who had stayed overnight for Ashley's birthday, vanished. Three suspects were named in 2018; one pleaded guilty in 2020 as an accessory and said the girls' bodies were placed in a root cellar in Picher. Searches there found nothing.
Status: the girls' remains have never been recovered.

Cases that were resolved
These are here because they are the argument for staying with it.
The Martin family — Columbia River Gorge, Oregon — resolved 2026
Kenneth Martin, 54, Barbara Martin, 48, and daughters Barbie, 14, Virginia, 13, and Susan, 11, vanished on 7 December 1958 on a day trip to gather Christmas greenery. Two daughters' bodies were recovered from the Columbia River in 1959. The other three were unaccounted for until August 2025, when a diver located the family's submerged car. DNA confirmed the remains in April 2026 — 67 years later. The sheriff's office concluded there was no evidence of a crime.

The Lyon sisters — Wheaton, Maryland — solved
Sheila Lyon, 12, and Katherine Lyon, 10, vanished from a shopping center on 25 March 1975. In 2017, 42 years later, a man pleaded guilty to two counts of first-degree murder. He began serving the Maryland sentences in January 2025. Remains were never fully recovered.

The McStay family — Fallbrook, California — solved
Joseph McStay, 40, Summer McStay, 43, and sons Gianni, 4, and Joseph Jr., 3, disappeared on 4 February 2010. Remains were found in shallow graves near Victorville in November 2013. A business partner was convicted in 2019.
